Gouverneto: Monastery Branding

Inside the temple, people were sitting on the bench, gazing at the decorative elements. They thought of their creator and then, ours. The light that came in from the long and narrow stained glass windows, illuminated with color, only a few places. A contrast that brought more peace within. The priest began to preach his word, and more light would come out of his words than through the windows.

The Gouverneto design, created by Antonia Skaraki, is a unique and captivating branding concept inspired by the principles of the neptic fathers. This design stands out with its ability to evoke a sense of peace and spirituality through its composition of space, emotion, and light.

The design features a glass bottle with dimensions of 60mm in width, 60mm in depth, and 250mm in height. The bottle is complemented by a paper box with dimensions of 240mm in width, 240mm in depth, and 80mm in height. These specifications were carefully chosen to enhance the overall aesthetic and functionality of the design.

The Gouverneto design project was led by Antonia Skaraki, the creative director, and Andreas Deskas, the art director. The project commenced in April 2019 in Athens and was completed in August 2021 in Crete. The final design was exhibited at the Gouverneto Monastery in August 2021, showcasing its beauty and significance.

This exceptional design has been recognized for its excellence and innovation. It was awarded the Iron A' Design Award in Packaging Design in 2023. This prestigious accolade is bestowed upon designs that demonstrate exceptional practicality, innovation, and adherence to professional and industrial standards. The Gouverneto design is celebrated for its ability to integrate industry best practices and technical characteristics, while also providing a sense of fulfillment and contributing to a better world.
